A gifted artist in Paint and watercolor Sharol captivates her viewers through her unique interpretive skill. Understanding the plight of her Native American ancestors she shares their pain and suffering while affirming their ever-present hope for reconciliation through her passionate artwork.
Sharol, also known as Shtigwaan Ikwe (her Chipewyan name), is recognized worldwide including in Africa, Cambodia, Canada, Denmark, England, Germany, India, Jerusalem, Latin America, Nepal, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and throughout the United States. She received top honors for featured works such as the 1997 Omak Stampede Rodeo Poster, still on display.
Tutored under the skillful eye of Dorothy Funk, Saharol continues to critique her skills and improve her individual technique. After retiring as a vocational teacher, she manages her nonprofit organization “Sister Warriors”, became a Christian minister, and still carves out precious time to spend with her blended family of 5 children. 11 grandchildren, and 9 great children.
Her late husband, Larry, always encouraged her to share her works with the world. But, Sharol credits her first love, the Lord Jesus Christ, for her skill and tallet to bring to life the passion in others through her artwork.
